For one thing, growing up in the early nineties, I remember many young men in their twenties and thirties having uncut hair and wrapping their heads. Punjabi's have been trained to put the West on a pedestal, and as such have been trying quite hard to relate to it.Īnd it's messed up a lot of the culture. The most frustrating part of it is that a large part of the problems faced by Punjabi culture today, are directly related to the rapid Westernization of it. Without even understanding Punjabi culture, and how their own culture may resemble or differ from it, it's simply convenient for people to throw it under the bus.
